TAPA and TLC are pleased to bring the production of the American farce Sex Please We're Sixty , written by Michael Parker & Susan Parker to Tillamook. Somewhere in New England is Mrs. Stancliffe's Rose Cottage Bed and Breakfast. Sandra Koops plays Mrs. Stancliffe who runs a prim and proper place, but her next-door neighbor “Bud the Stud” Davis, played by Bill Briot, has become renowned among the female guests for his successful amorous pursuits despite being a bit long in the tooth. He claims responsibility for the success of the bed & breakfast, believing that the ladies return year after year to see him. Mrs. Stancliffe is intolerant of Bud's hanky-panky, but reluctantly agrees that he is good for business. Al Johnson plays another neighbor Henry Mitchell who has proposed to her every afternoon for twenty years. He has developed Venusia, a pill to increase the libido in menopausal women, but refuses to test it on moral grounds. Bud calls him, “A stick in the mud.” And he probably is.

Sylvia Johnson plays Hillary Hudson, an old friend and colleague of Henry's who agrees to test his Venusia pill and warms to Bud's intentions, but is it the Venusia or Bud's charm? Kimber Lundy plays Victoria Ambrose, a renowned author of steamy romantic novels and Kelli McMellon plays Charmaine Beauregard, the quintessential southern belle, who is definitely at the B&B for “Bud the Stud”.

Which of these ladies will become the leading light in the plot to tame “Bud the Stud” and who falls victim to his silver tongue and sexual prowess. Who resists the temptations of love, but allows surprising events to finally bring them together? Does the stick in the mud finally come out of his shell? And who masterminds a plot to turn “Bud the Stud” into “Bud the Dud”? Find out when TAPA's Sex Please We're Sixty hits the stage!

Hysteria abounds in this production directed by Chris Chiola and produced by Val Braun. Performances will be held at the Barn Community Playhouse at 12th and Ivy in Tillamook at 7:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays from June 11 through June 26 with one matinee on Sunday, June 20 at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $9 for seniors and students, and a family four-pack can be purchased for $35. TAPA will be holding auditions for the critically acclaimed drama The Beauty Queen of Leenane in June. Set in a small village in northern Ireland, The Beauty Queen of Leenane centers on the life of Maureen Folan, a 40-year-old spinster who takes care of her 70-year-old, selfish and manipulative mother Mag. Sisters of Maureen have escaped into marriage and family life, but Maureen, with a history of mental illness, is trapped in a seriously dysfunctional relationship with her mother.

In the course of the play, the Folan cottage is visited by Pato Dooley and his younger brother Ray. Pato is a middle-aged construction worker fed up with having to live and work in England, disappointed by the limitations and loneliness of his life. The sameness of its day-to-day routine is tedious also for his brother, a non-threatening "bad boy" Ray.

Auditions will be held Saturday, June 19 at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 20 at 5:00 p.m. Audition packets will be available at the Tillamook County Library on Wednesday June 9th. In addition to the material contained in the audition packet, those who are interested in auditioning are asked to prepare a 2-3 minute comedic or dramatic monologue of their choice.
