Open Auditions For TAPA’s Fall Production

TAPA is pleased to announce open auditions for their fall production, True West.  Auditions will be held June 27th from 4:00-7:00 pm, and June 28th from 2:00-4:00 pm at TAPA’s Barn Community Playhouse located at 12th & Ivy in Tillamook.

TAPA is looking to fill the following roles:  2 males (playing adult brothers), 1 male (playing a Hollywood producer), and 1 female (playing the brothers’ mother).

Written by Sam Shepard, and directed by Craig Wakefield, True West is a tale of
brotherly love and competition, Hollywood producers, and stolen toasters. Well-educated Austin and thieving con-man Lee are estranged brothers from different worlds. They reunite in their mother’s California kitchen, where Austin is working out a screenplay deal. But when Lee comes up with his own big idea and steals much more than just the neighbors’ TVs, challenges are issued, many drinks are downed, and the siblings find that they might not be such opposites after all.

True West will run September 26th – October 12th.  Audition packets are available at the Tillamook County Library, or you may call the producer, Debbie Coon, at 503-842-3999 to obtain one.  Separate audition times are available by appointment by contacting the director, Craig Wakefield, at 503-842-5528.
