Auditions: Suitehearts








Now is your chance to take the stage in an exciting comedy that has been delighting audiences for almost 40 years!

The Tillamook Association for the Performing Arts (TAPA) is holding auditions for the production of Suitehearts, a comedy written by William Van Zandt and Jane Milmore.  This production will be directed by Chris Chiola.  Van Zandt and Milmore both achieved their fame as writers and actors in many plays and television shows such as Newhart, while Chiola has been acting, directing and producing at TAPA for over ten years.

Experience is not necessary, and newcomers are encouraged to audition.  TAPA is a non-profit volunteer organization where learning and growth are fostered.

Auditions: Edge of Darkness 9/30 and 10/1




The Tillamook Association of the Performing Arts (TAPA) is holding a second round of auditions for the winter thriller, “Edge of Darkness”. Auditions will be held September 30th & October 1st starting at 3:00 pm, at Dance Zone (12th & Ivy in Tillamook). This production is looking for three females and three males varying in ages from 20 to 50 or 60 years of age. This production is also looking for backstage help (lights, sound, backstage crew). Roses in December opens Sept 15th

In a world of texting, emails, and social media, the art of letter writing seems lost. Not so in TAPA’s fall romance, “Roses in December”. In this play told through letters, a young official in a college alumni office invites a celebrated but reclusive author to the 35th reunion of his class. When he declines, she charmingly prods him, and thereby begins a witty and revelatory written correspondence that becomes part mystery, part memory, and part romance. The New Yorker called it “Rich and revealing.”

Audition Announcement: Money Matters



TAPA is holding auditions for their late fall comedy, “Money Matters”.  Directed by Rikki Reid, “Money Matters” is a hysterical farce written by the same duo who wrote “Sex Please, We’re Sixty”.  TAPA is looking for three (3) men, and three (3) women ages 30-60+ to fill out the roles in this fantastically funny play. This production opens November 3rd and runs through November 19th.

Auditions: Roses In December

Accepting applications for summer Starlite Theater Camp



TAPA will be holding their annual summer theater camp for kids, ages 8-13, the week of June 19th, with performances on June 23rd & 24th. There are spots for 25 students and registration forms are due May 1st.

This year’s Starlite Children’s Academy will be directed by Diane Cross, a current TAPA Board Member. Students in the camp will attend a variety of theater classes and work on preparing this year's show!

Casting Call: To Kill a Mockingbird



 

We are thrilled to announce auditions for the classic story, “To Kill A Mockingbird”.  Richard Coon will be directing the well-known tale, written by Harper Lee and dramatized by Christopher Sergel, renowned for its warmth and humor despite dealing with serious issues such as racial inequality and the destruction of innocence. TAPA is looking for twelve (12) men and eight (8) women, including roles for 1 girl and 2 boys. The show opens July 14th.

Auditions will be held at Oregon Coast Dance Center  on Saturday April 22nd and Sunday April 23rd, starting promptly at 2:00 pm.  Oregon Coast Dance Center is located at 106 Main Ave in Tillamook.

Cast Announcement: Funny Money


The cast of "Funny Money" closes in on the briefcase full of money!

The Tillamook Association for the Performing Arts (TAPA), in partnership with Cyndi Lewis of Rob Trost Real Estate, is excited to announce the cast of the upcoming production “Funny Money”, written by Ray Cooney, and directed by Becki Wilhelm.

Henry Perkins is a mild-mannered accountant who accidentally picks up the wrong briefcase on his way home from work and discovers it is the best birthday present ever…..because the briefcase is filled with money!  Tired of the day-to-day grind, he decides to keep the money and immediately wants to depart for points unknown. Will his wife go along with the plan? How does he keep the news from his best friends who are coming over? Throw in the police, an impatient taxi driver, and the briefcase’s actual owner, and an evening of hilarious theater is bound to ensue!

TAPA veterans Lynn Lothman and Julie Bucknam play the roles of Henry and Jean Perkins, while David Wiegan and Robin Eley play their friends Vic and Betty Johnson. Gerry Cortimilia makes an appearance as the impatient taxi driver, Bill. And we see Garrick Gordon and Daniel Reid as police detectives, Slater and Davenport.  Rounding out the cast is newcomer Dennis Greiner as Mr. Big, the owner of the briefcase full of money.

This hilarious, madcap farce opens April 28th with a Gala Celebration and runs through May 13th.

Directors Wanted!



Tillamook Association for the Performing Arts (TAPA) is seeking show submissions from directors for the 2017-2018 season, which runs October 2017-September 2018. Deadline for submissions is April 14, 2017.

As always, TAPA is looking for a balanced season with some classics, some comedies, and some dramas.

The submission form can be filled out and submitted a variety of ways.

Open auditions for comedy, Funny Money



TAPA, in partnership with Cyndi Lewis of Rob Trost Real Estate, is excited to announce auditions for the spring comedy, Funny Money.  Written by Ray Cooney, and directed by Becki Wilhelm, this hilarious madcap farce needs a cast of six (6) men and two (2) women, with ages ranging from 30 to 50ish and excellent comedic timing.  The show will open April 28th and run through May 13th.

Auditions will be held at Oregon Coast Dance Center on Friday, February 24th starting promptly at 7:00 pm, and again Saturday, February 25th starting promptly at 3:00 pm.  Oregon Coast Dance Center is located at 106 Main Ave in Tillamook.
